About Chip Simkins
Biography
A graduate of Radford University with more than 28 years in the mortgage industry, Chip Simkins has built a positive business reputation by putting clients into mortgage programs that are beneficial now and into the future. By securing options that are financially best for his clients, he is rewarded with their repeat business and loyalty, along with respect among the real estate community.
After leading Old Virginia Mortgage (now OVM Financial, Inc.) as Sr. Vice President for over a year, Chip and business partner, George Temple, Jr., bought OVM in October 2010. Since then, Chip has brought partners Aaron Legum, Matt Beckwith, and Ben Temple on board.
Chip currently serves as a Chairman of the Board for OVM Financial and is still dedicated to originating loans for the company. Chip also served as President of the Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association. Prior to this, he was branch manager for C&F Mortgage, and Vice President with Towne Bank Mortgage.
Chip's wife, Jodi, and their four kids are the most important part of his life. His eldest two daughters, Elizabeth and Sydney, have graduated college and work with him at OVM, and the youngest daughter, Morgan, is in her senior year of college. His baby boy, Jack, is now a senior in high school and plans to attend college in the fall.
